Kurdish protesters have taken control of two passenger pods on the London Eye to highlight the plight of political prisoners in Turkey.
They say they want to bring to the world's attention alleged abuses by Turkish authorities.
The wheel, on the south side ot the Thames opposite Parliament, has been largely motionless since the protest started at about 3pm (3am NST).
Police have cordoned off the area around the base of the wheel and are in negotiations with the protesters.
Other Kurdish protesters are thought to have also entered the London offices of the European Commission.
