Killers give police slip after shooting 3 in Queensland

Two gunmen who shot three members of one family on Monday night on a road at Murphy's Creek, east of Toowoomba, Queensland are still on the run from police.

Police said Kenneth Walter Doig, aged 31, received severe head injuries and his throat was cut before his body was wrapped in plastic and placed in the boot of a car.

His mother, Helen Doig, 58, and his twin brother Brett, were shot when they saw the car parked off the road and stopped to investigate.

Brett Doig was shot in the hand and face and was transferred to a Brisbane hospital.

His mother was in a serious but stable condition in Toowoomba Hospital after being shot in the face, throat and shoulder.
