Gulf of Carpentaria search called off

Police will step up the search for a father and son missing in the Gulf of Carpentaria if they get new information from the public.

An extensive air and water search for 36-year-old Bevin Simmonds and his son, Brad, 10, was called off yesterday. They have been missing since last Thursday when they left their vessel El Dorado in the Coleman River in a 5m dinghy to check shark nets offshore.
