Giant dinosaur bone found in Spain

The largest dinosaur bone found in Europe has been discovered in Spain.

The bone, 1.78m long, belonged to a dinosaur from the Cretaceous period around 150 million years ago, the head of a local palaeontology foundation said.

The humerus from the front leg of a sauropod, a herbivorous dinosaur, was found in Riodeva in north-eastern Spain, Luis Alcala said.

The animal would have weighed some 50 tonnes and been between 30m and 35m long.
