Israeli soldiers at a Gaza border terminal at Erez Crossing captured a Palestinian suicide bomber last night before he could detonate a new form of explosives belt hidden in his underwear, the Israeli Army said.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is proposing evacuating all 21 Jewish settlements in the GazaStrip at the beginning of next year, or eight months earlier than planned, to avoid drawn-out clashes with settlers, his aides said.
Sharon was to present the revised timetable to his Likud Party today.
