Christopher Skase reported to have died

Christopher Skase, a self-exiled bankrupt Australian businessman, is reported to have died in Spain.

The Australian Government is believed to have received confirmation of the death.

Skase, 53, had been living in Majorca since 1991. He died of stomach cancer.

He left Australia after his company Qintex failed owing millions to creditors.

He also faced criminal charges over the collapse of the A$1.5 billion company.

The Australian government has been pushing for Skase's extradition but Spanish authorities appeared to believe Skase was too sick to force to leave.
