'Catch him Derry!': Bat flies into Irish family's kitchen, hilarity ensues

If laughter is the best medicine, this video of a man chasing a bat inside his kitchen will cure anything.

The Irish family was quietly enjoying their evening when a bat found its way into their kitchen.

They went into a panic has the nocturnal creature started flying around as the dad tried to catch it with a towel.

"You're doing great Derry," the sons shouts at his dad while filming, telling him to "catch it" over and over again.

The video, posted on Facebook by Tadhg Fleming, has been shared nearly 30,000 times in just a couple of days, gathering millions of views.

"My mam was doing the ironing and she had all the clothes on the table," Fleming told the BBC.

"She went outside the back and the minute she opened the back door, the bat flew in.

"It was just pure chaos," he added.

The Irish family has since become an internet sensation, with people referring to the video as "pure unadultured comedy gold".
