At least 14 people, including two children, died and a further 45 were injured when a bus ran off a road in the mountains of Peru yesterday.
The bus, jammed with more than 60 passengers, was travelling from the jungle town of Satipo to the city of Huancayo, in the central
Andes east of Lima.
A police official, who believes the driver fell asleep, said the death toll could rise because many passengers suffered serious injuries.
This was the nation's second fatal bus accident in three days. Nine people died on Sunday when two buses collided in southern Peru.
