One of Britain's leading 1980s record producers, Steven Jolley, was arrested yesterday by police investigating allegations of sex abuse against young boys.
His arrest follows the detention last week, in the course of the same inquiry, of the former manager of the Bay City Rollers pop group, Tam Paton, and TVtalent show host Matthew Kelly.
Jolley wrote and produced chart hits for bands such as Spandau Ballet, Bananarama and Kim Wilde.
He was released on bail until March 12, when he is due to appear with Kelly - host of Stars In Their Eyes - and Paton at Staines police station.
Officers said the three arrests were not connected to Operation Ore, a probe into internet child pornography in which Pete Townshend, leader of the 1970s rock group The Who, was ensnared on January 13.
