A Hong Kong court has dismissed an appeal by Asia's richest woman to claim her dead husband's vast fortune, after a lengthy and bitter probate case.
Wealthy businessman Teddy Wang Teh Huei was kidnapped in 1990 and never seen again. His wife, Nina, and father, Wang Din-shin, have been battling for his estate, which is believed to be worth billions, since he was declared legally dead in 1999.
The case revolves around a handwritten will that Nina says Teddy wrote just before he disappeared. The will left her everything, including his company, one of the biggest private property developers in Hong Kong.
In late 2002, a lower court ruled that the document was a forgery and awarded the fortune to her husband's father.
Nina, now is her 60s, challenged the verdict, but Court of Appeal judges ruled against her 2-1.
