Abducted baby found in derelict Melbourne house

Ambulance crews have found the baby girl snatched from her mother at a Melbourne shopping centre car park on Saturday.

Paramedics rushed three-week-old Montana Barbaro to the Royal Children's Hospital this morning after finding her in a derelict house in Erskine Street in North Melbourne, following a tip-off from a passerby who called emergency serrvices.

She has been taken to the Royal Children's Hospital for a check up and appears to be healthy and has been reunited with her parents.

A reporter at the scene says the house is a two-bedroom weatherboard building which has not been lived in for many years.

Some windows at the house appear broken, and on one side of the house rags have been fashioned into curtains.

Police have spent some time examining the crime scene.

There is no word about the couple police have been looking for over the abduction.

Montana was strapped into her car seat when she was snatched from her mother on Saturday at the Brimbank shopping centre in Deer Park, Melbourne.
