Spain scored two goals in injury time to beat Yugoslavia 4-3 and move through to the quarterfinals of the Euro 2000 championship this morning.
Spain topped Group C with the win, while Yugoslavia also qualified as Norway and Slovenia drew 0-0.
The victory was marred by some security breaches, with fans invading the pitch to protest refereeing decisions. In one incident the referee was hit in the eye by a coin thrown from the crowd.
In Group D, the Netherlands beat France 3-2 in the match to decide the top qualifier from the group.
The previously undefeated French, with a team full of second-string players, lead 2-1 at halftime and made the Dutch work hard for the victory that guarantees all their future games will be played at home.
In the other Group D game the Czech Republic beat Denmark 2-0.

Italy v Romania, Brussels; Sunday, June 25
Yugoslavia v Netherlands, Rotterdam; Monday, June 26
