A Masterton man convicted of child sex charges has been released from prison after serving half his sentence.
Kenneth Robert O'Reilly, 67, is back in Masterton after a year in jail, freed under court conditions.
O'Reilly, a former railway signalman, was sentenced to two years in jail by Judge Bruce Davidson in Wellington District Court in May last year.
At sentencing Judge Davidson ordered O'Reilly to undergo a psychiatric assessment upon release.
He was also barred from contact with anyone under 16 without supervision.
