Jetstar has launched a Valentine’s Day sale, discounting domestic and international fares to help Kiwis treat their loved ones to travel.
“A holiday could be cheaper than buying roses,” the airline said of the sale, which includes one-way domestic fares from $45 (such asAuckland to Christchurch) and one-way international fares starting at $149.
The sale will begin at noon today and last just eight hours, ending at 8pm unless sold out prior.
Travel dates depend on the route but include early March to early December 2025 and do not include luggage.
However, Kiwis may be buying an airline ticket for one this Valentine’s Day, if data from Airbnb is anything to go by.
The platform revealed solo trip searches have more than doubled for the Valentine’s Day weekend globally, compared with the previous year. Romance isn’t totally dead though; searches for couples were also up 50%, while groups of three or more for a V-day getaway were up 70%.
Airbnb found solo travellers tend to search for beach spots, couples are keen on cabin escapes and groups prefer relaxing poolside.
