it's been a busy week with working bees and competitions going on all the time.
The Summer Cup was completed with the second round on Saturday.
Neil Aldridge came out the winner with a combined total of 132 Net.
Vaughan Jones and Terry Johnson were second and third.
The weekly haggle results were similar. First place went to Neil Aldidge, second was Vaughan Jones, third Pat Moore and fourth Terry Johnson.
The second round of the Fedex Cup was completed and the current leaders are Dave Banham and Neil Aldridge. Still eight rounds to go.
On Sunday the Men's Pennant teams went to battle with other teams at Te Ngutu. They produced a great result of five Single wins and two foursomes wins.
■ Stratford Avon Bowling club:
The winners of the Waitangi Day tournament were Iain Parker, June Phelan, Royce Eaves and Janet Ravji. Runners up were Paul Digby, Mary Bishop, Rudi Benkert and Irwin Van Pelt.
On Saturday the men began playing the Championship Senior Singles. There were seven qualifiers: Paul Digby, Mike Hamlin, Alec Jacobsen, John Kane, Kevin Mischefski, Iain Parker and Irwin Van Pelt.
The competition continued on Sunday with semi final wins for Paul Digby against Kevin Mischefski and Iain Parker against Mike Hamlin.
Paul then took the win in the final against Iain.
This Saturday the men are playing the final round of the Syme Shield and on Sunday the club is playing the Championship Drawn Mixed Fours which had been postponed earlier in the season.
Championship Drawn Mixed Pairs will take place on Sunday, March 3.
■ The Stratford Football Club senior kick-around and registration day will take place on Sunday, February 17 at 4pm. This is for the men's and women's teams.
■ Stratford and Eltham Rugby and Sports Club netball trials will take place this month.
Trials are at the Taranaki Diocesan gymnasium on Wednesday, February 13 and Tuesday, February 19. Registration starts at 6.15pm both days. Trials are for players interested in Premier One, Premier Two and the Saturday Kudos team.
