New citizens for Stratford

Thirteen new citizens to New Zealand decided to officially make Stratford their home last Wednesday, at a citizenship ceremony, held at the Stratford District Council Chambers.
After swearing allegiance to the Queen and agreeing to abide by New Zealand law, each person was given a dwarf Kowhai tree in recognition of their commitment.
The families originated from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Italy and Ireland.
A family of three from India will also become citizens in a ceremony on July 4.
