Countdown has officially announced it has bought land for a new generation supermarket in Stratford, located at 21A - 27 Broadway.
Adrian Walker, Countdown's General Manager for Property, says the company is excited to have found a suitable site in Stratford, and can now start detailed planning for a
full service Countdown supermarket.
"We've been looking for the right site in Stratford for some time; it's an area that we know is growing and plays host to an increasing number of tourists and visitors year-round as well," says Adrian.
"Above all it's a community we're keen to employ and invest in, and we're looking forward to building a local team to bring the great value, range, quality and service that Countdown is known for across the country."
"There have been a lot of rumors about a supermarket coming to Stratford, so while we're still developing our resource consent application to lodge with the Council, we wanted to give people some certainty that the rumors are indeed true."
