Your marae needs you!
That's the message the board of Whakaahurangi Marae wants to get out to the community. The marae is inviting the community to support the upcoming DIY Marae project.
DIY Marae is a long-running and popular New Zealand TV show, and as previously reported in the Stratford Press, it is coming to Stratford this month. With filming scheduled to take place between April 20 and 23, "it would be great to see the community come along and get involved", says Whakaahurangi Marae board secretary Lovey Read.
"This is an opportunity to bring whanau together to invest in their marae. It is an opportunity to be together, sharing stories, whakapapa and to showcase all that makes our marae unique."
President of the marae, Dave West, says now they need people and equipment to help get the project completed on time.
