Fourteen students at Avon Primary school were given a brand new dictionary to keep courtesy of the Stratford Rotary Club, during a school assembly on Friday morning.
The dictionaries were given to students aged seven to nine, along with any students who would have qualified in previous years but had not been at the school at the time.
Outgoing president of the Rotary club, Barrie Smith, says that this is the third year Rotary has visited Avon school, last year giving out 20 dictionaries and the year before 26. The club gave out over 600 dictionaries last year to students in the area.
Principal of Avon school, Denise Hendren, says she was sponsored by her local Rotary club when she was a teenager to attend an outdoor pursuits camp, and is aware of the good clubs do in their communities.
