Cool New Zealand sailors Matt Davies and Kevin Borrows have kept their heads and taken the lead in the 420 class at the world youth sailing championships in South Africa.
The Auckland pair moved up from third to first yesterday, the third day of the championships sailed off Simon's Town.
Davies and
Borrows were one of the few crews to escape sail damage in the morning's sailing, and finished the day with a fifth, first and second.
New Zealand team coach Jack Lloyd said the crew were enjoying themselves on the racecourse: "Nothing phases these two."
Alastair Gair has slipped back one place to fifth overall in the Laser class, but only four points separate second and fifth. Michelle Vinsen is eighth in the Laser Radials.
The boardsailers, both from Wellington, have found it tough going in the light winds. Stacey Cree is ninth and Karl Mygind 12th.
