World No 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne was named Belgium's sportswoman of the year today, beating her toughest challenger for the supremacy in women's tennis, Kim Clijsters.
Henin-Hardenne, who won the French and US Open titles on her way to the No 1 ranking, took the prestigious trophy for the first time and succeeded Clijsters, who had won the title last year.
Underlining the domination of Belgian tennis, Kirsten Flipkens, who won the junior titles at Wimbledon and the US Open, took the trophy as best youngster.
