(North Shore City)

National sprint and long jump champion Chantal Brunner set a confidence boosting personal best 400m of 55.22s at East Coast Bays Sovereign Stadium yesterday.

Earlier in the afternoon Brunner had won the 100m in 12.01s before stepping up to a powerful lap of the track.
Brunner, who finished fourth in the long jump at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games will wait till January before competing in the long jump.

Moses Kamut won the men's 400m in 48.48s in a tight finish beating Alyx Hodgson 48.55s and Sam Rapson 48.58s. JG Nel highlighted the field event clearing 5.22m in the pole vault before taking on the New Zealand record of 5.51m. He was unsuccessful at 5.52m.
