The loss to the Irish means more trouble for England coach Andy Robinson - their third defeat in a row.

* Scotland, ahead 10-7 at halftime after a try by Chris Paterson, which the winger also converted, and a drop goal by flyhalf Gordon Ross, had to wait until the 78th minute before sealing their first win on the road since they beat the Azzurri 29-12 in 2002.
