Black Ferns Sevens star winger Portia Woodman says 'it's just going to be better from here' following the team's successful defense of the Sevens World Cup title.
The Black Ferns Sevens landed in Auckland this morning after New Zealand completed the double-double in San Francisco when both the men's andwomen's sides defended their World Cup titles from 2013.
The Black Ferns Sevens were dominant throughout their tournament culminating with a 29-0 victory over France in Sunday's final.
She told TVNZ's Breakfast that the next Olympics is the focus for the team. The Black Ferns Sevens finished second at the last Games in Rio.
"We're back to back world champions and myself and a couple of teammates even won the 15s World Cup last year…it's pretty incredible," Woodman said
"Looking far forward, we're to hoping to get that [gold] at 2020 Tokyo. All these tournaments - Commonwealth Games, World Series, World Cup…they are all keystones towards that.
"But now we're on a six week holiday, get some whanau time, refresh the soul, mind and body and get back for our next tournament in Colorado in October.
"Exciting times. It's just going to be better from here."
