Rugby: ITM Cup fixtures decided today

A unique addition to next year's provincial rugby competitions will take place later today.

All 14 provincial teams will be required to play a part in selecting three of the four "crossover" fixtures between the premiership and championship teams.

The first round of crossover matches have already been determined by seeding from the 2010 season.

Manawatu coach Dave Rennie says there'll be a bit of strategy involved.

He says they've tried to figure out who the other teams might go for.

Rennie says they could look to play the likes of Canterbury or Waikato to help fill the stands or try to land a local derby against the likes of Wellington or Taranaki.
