Rugby: Read ruled out of semi

Crusaders number eight Kieran Read has ruled himself out of Friday night's Super Rugby semi final against the Chiefs.

The All Blacks number eight was forced from the field during his side's last meeting with the Chiefs in the penultimate round.

Read is still nursing a cracked rib and says he won't be playing in Hamilton.

He says it's pretty much cracked on one of the ribs so he just has to wait for it to heal.

Kieran Read is confident he will be fit to play if the Crusaders manage to make the Super Rugby final.
