SYDNEY - Former Kiwis winger Matt Utai has re-signed with the Bulldogs for another two years in the National Rugby League (NRL).
The 26-year-old, who has endured a difficult season with injury and is currently out with a knee problem, agreed to extend his contract with the Dogsuntil 2009.
"Everyone knows what he is capable of and we're all looking forward to seeing him back on the field," said coach Steve Folkes.
"Matty has been missed this year after a couple of injuries have kept him on the sideline for most of the season.
"It's good for both the Bulldogs and for him that he will be here for another couple of years.
A Bulldogs junior, Utai made his NRL debut for the club in 2002, and has gone on to play 107 first grade games as well as five tests.
Utai has played just one NRL game this year, starting the round eight clash against Newcastle but fracturing in his right leg attempting to make a try-saving tackle on Knights winger James McManus.
He is listed to return in round 20 late this month.
