A Karmichael Hunt hat trick of tries has led Brisbane to a 48-18 thumping of Wests in NRL league action at Suncorp Stadium.
However, there is a slight cloud over the performance due to the sin binning of prop Petero Civoniceva after a brawl in the 69th minute.
If Civoniceva receives a suspension, he will miss selection for Queensland in the third and final State of Origin match.
It is likely to be his last Origin match, as a move to the UK appears imminent for next season after recent negotiations broke down with Brisbane.
Civoniceva is widely tipped to join Hull.
The Brisbane win has lifted the Broncos to ninth place, and dropped the Warriors down one place to tenth place on points differential.
The Warriors are still right in the contest for a place in the top eight playoffs on 14 points, which is the same number of points as the eighth placed Sharks.
Melbourne leads on 26 points, two ahead of Manly.
On 18 points are Parramatta, Gold Coast and North Queensland.
Two points further back are Wests Tigers and Newcastle
