Rugby League: Walker's wallet leads him to Manly

An offer Andrew Walker could not refuse has led him to abandon the Brumbies and join Manly in the NRL.

A dual international, Walker joined the Brumbies for the 2000 Super 12 season and broke into the Wallabies squad later that year.

This followed stints with league clubs St George and the Sydney Roosters, and a one-off test appearance for the Kangaroos on the 1996 tour of Papua New Guinea.

But Manly offered the 28-year-old twice the money the Brumbies had on the table for the next Super 12 season.

Walker signed a two-year deal worth A$200,000 ($228,180) a season, while the Brumbies tabled half that amount a year, provided he played all scheduled matches.
