The Fiji Rugby Football Union has sacked its national coach Greg Smith and manager, Smith's girlfriend Elenora Tojic.
The pair were sacked by the national board yesterday.
Smith said he believed the dismissals were more a personal attack rather than a result of poor performance.
Smith left Fiji with a parting
shot this morning, telling the union they had to get their act together, otherwise the game would suffer.
Last year, the former Wallabies coach was appointed on a $US75,000 ($185,000) salary after former All Blacks prop Brad Johnstone left to coach Italy.
Smith was on contract to take Fiji through to the 2003 World Cup.
FRFU executives are meeting today to decide on a replacement. At present, Fiji's captain Greg Smith is coaching the team.
Fiji play Japan in the Pacific Rim semifinals next week.
