Fasliyitsa enhanced her prospects for Wanganui tomorrow when she worked well at Matamata yesterday.

Galloping 15 metres out on a soft course proper, Fasliyitsa began steadily to record 1.11.8 for 1000m and had a lot in reserve after quickening for a final 600m in 39.7.

First Night prepared for Tauranga with 1000m
in 1.14.2, the last 600 in 40.8 and Artemesia completed 1200m in 1.22.4, the 600 in 39.

Rhythm Method was another Tauranga runner restricted to light work with 1000m in 1.14.4 and the 600m in 43.2.

Distinctly Secret and Maroofity, who will run at next week's Te Teko trials, worked boldly over 1000m in 1.4.8, the last 600 in 38.6. Breeze Hill did good work over 1200m in 1.19.8, the 600 in 39.5 and Ciao took 1.24.8 and 38.8.

On a soft sand, Wanganui entrants Sheka and Amira were asked to run home from the 600 separately in 39.6 and 38.5 respectively. Queenza did similar work to record 41.8 for her final 600.

On the course proper, Upsetthym worked well over 1200m in 1.22.3, the 600 in 38.6. Pure And Simple took 1.26.7 and 40.5 and Glitzy returned 1.25.8 and 39.8. Deebee Jean clocked 1.6.2 and 38.6 over 1000m.

Being Xtreme, Wise Man's Step and Yendarra promised to give trainer Caroline Pomare a strong hand at Tauranga tomorrow judged by their work on the outside of a heavy No 2 grass at Takanini.

Being Xtreme sprinted 800m in 53, the last 600 in 38.1, smart time in the conditions. Wise Man's Step, with a heavier weight, ran his 800m in 54, the final 600 in 39.3.

Yendarra took 57.2 for her 800m and 42.7 for the last 600, but the rider had trouble with an iron in the early stages and was forced to keep a firm hold on the mare.

Rose Of Arcadia galloped freely over the last 1200m of 1600 in 1.23.5 and 600 in 41.1.

Cheetie went 600m in 42.2. She is partial to the Gate Pa course.
