There has been a massive punt on Magic Cape to win the Derby on Saturday, forcing the TAB bookies to scramble to re-shape their market.
Magic Cape's odds tumbled from $5 to $3.80 after the plunge, which trainer Shaune Ritchie said was from elements close to the stable.
The punt, estimated at around $15,000 to win $75,000 or more, even pushed out the quote for the Derby favourite Redoute's Dancer from $3 to $3.20 and lengthened the price of a few of those underneath Magic Cape.
Magic Cape will have his final gallop for the big race at Cambridge this morning, working with Magician.
"He's flying," said Ritchie.
Magic Cape will be ridden for the first time by Opie Bosson.
The TAB yesterday fielded a $3000 bet on Keepem at $21 to win $63,000.
