New Zealand finished third in the Spirit International amateur teams golf event in Houston, Texas.
The team of Brenda Ormsby, Tina Howard, Jonathan Cane and Brent McEwan edged ahead of the United States on the final day yesterday when they improved their standing from fourth to third.
Mexico won the event, followed by Korea, who were three shots ahead of New Zealand.
Howard and Ormsby also finished third in the women's event while Cane and McEwan were second equal in the men's event.

New Zealand individual placings:
Women: Howard +1 4, Ormsby +13 11.
Men: Cane even par 7, McEwan +1 8.
