Motorsport: Dixon race hopes die with engine

Engine problems ruined any chance Scott Dixon's Chip Ganassi Racing Team had of winning the 24 Hours of Daytona motor race yesterday.

The New Zealand driver's team dominated the opening exchanges of the race, opening up a one-lap lead after three hours and leading 132 of the first 247 laps, but a piston failure forced them to withdraw.

The event was won by Joao Barbosa and Action Express Racing.
