ITF FUTURES
(North Harbour)

Mark Nielsen's run of success in the Futures tennis series came to an end yesterday. The New Zealand No 1 was beaten 6-2 6-3 by fifth seed Satoshi Iwabuchi (Japan) in the singles quarterfinals.

Nielsen will partner Davis Cup team-mate Matt Prentice, the probable Davis Cup doubles combination against Kazakhstan next week, to face the Japanese pair Yasuo Miyazaki and Hiroyasu Sato in the doubles semifinal today.
