Soccer: More trouble for George Best

Former Manchester United and Northern Ireland football star George Best spent 11 hours under arrest yesterday in connection with an alleged assault on his estranged wife Alex.

According to the Sun newspaper, Best, 57, was arrested after a drunken tiff with his wife in the south England town of Reigate where the couple once shared a house.

Police reported "a 57-year-old man" had been released without charge. Best split from his 31-year-old wife in September after failing to give up drinking, despite undergoing a liver transplant last year.
