The mountain-running strength of Jonathan Wyatt and Melissa Moon showed through as they powered to victory in the New Zealand short course cross-country championships at St Kentigern College.
Wyatt, of the Hutt Valley, found the extremely muddy conditions to his liking, outclassing Bays' Alan Bunce to win the 4km event inan impressive time for the conditions of 12 minutes.
Moon, from Wellington, also gave nothing away, displaying the form that has won her five cross-country titles, to take the women's race in 14m 28s.
Kimberly Smith, of Counties, was second in 14m 45s.
