India have moved up in the world rankings that will decide the groups for the 2003 cricket World Cup in South Africa.
The latest provisional seedings take into account all one-day internationals played up to last Saturday.
India have moved into fifth place ahead of England, following the first three matches oftheir series against Australia.
The rankings are, with percentage of matches won since the 1999 World Cup: 1, Australia 76.74; 2, South Africa 64.58; 3, Sri Lanka 63.83; 4, Pakistan 53.70; 5, India 48.21; 6, England 47.83; 7, New Zealand 41.46; 8, West Indies 37.21; 9, Zimbabwe 25.45; 10, Bangladesh and Kenya 0.00.
The World Cup groupings will be decided on the rankings at the end of September 20.
