In the earlier session, Sam Tanner finished sixth in the 1500m final while Keeley O'Hagan was sixth in the women's high jump final.
Coached by her father Dave, the Hamilton-raised athlete said she was really happy to win another Commonwealth Games medal in her third appearance.
"The crowd tonight was absolutely outrageous, it was so cool to be out there. As I've said a few times after Tokyo, which was super dead so so cool just to have that roar of that crowd egging you on," Ratcliffe said.
"Lots of friends and family in the crowd tonight so that was really special and really proud of how I kept building out there."
