7.49pm: Cambridge's Nikki Hamblin is safely through to the final of the women's 1500m at the Commonwealth Games.
Hamblin placed third in her heat, finishing behind her rivals from Kenya and England.
The final is tomorrow night.
7.43pm: Kiwi Sally Johnson is in
eighth position after two of the three rounds in the 50m three position rifle shoot at the Commonwealth Games.
New Zealand's 11-time Commonwealth Games medallist Greg Yelevich will shoot later tonight in the 10m air pistol.
7.24pm: New Zealand decathlete Brett Newdick has recorded a personal best today.
In his first long jump attempt Newdick leapt 7.42m, earning him at least 915 competition points with still two jumps to come.
It backs up a solid showing for Newdick in the opening event - the 100m - where his time of 11.07s had him in third place.
7.07pm: Jamie Adjetey-Nelson of Canada has taken the early lead in the men's decathlon, running the fastest time in the opening 100 meters to amass 890 points.
Adjetey-Nelson won the second of two heats in 10.87, the only of the 14 starters to get under 11 seconds.
There are seven finals on the second day of the athletics competition at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, including in the men's and women's 100.
6.55pm: The Associated Press reports the Commonwealth Games is facing a new crisis with up to 15 swimmers on the England and Australian teams suffering a stomach virus potentially caused by the quality of water at the aquatics center in New Delhi.
England's swim team doctor was quoted as saying that about 20 per cent of the swimmers - about eight to 10 competitors - are ill with a stomach virus.
Australia has reported at least three swimmers had been sick, including Andrew Lauterstein, who was a late scratch from the 50-meter butterfly Wednesday.
Commonwealth Games Federation president Mike Fennell says officials will look into the matter urgently and conduct tests on both the main pool and the warmup pool at the Dr. S.P. Makherjee Aquatic Complex.
6.22pm: The Silver Ferns have come from behind to down England 47 to 41 after trailing 24-22 at half-time to stay undefeated in New Delhi.
6.07pm: New Zealand have edged in front in the netball, leading 40-37 with nine minutes remaining.
5.57pm: The netball is tied up at 34-all late in the third quarter, this one is going to go down to the wire.
Meantime there's a quirky story coming out of New Delhi where the official Games information service is listing New Zealand on 11 medals, rather than the seven everyone thought they had won through three days of competition.
Instead of listing five silver medals and two bronze on the medal table, we apparently own six silvers and five bronze, NZPA reports.
Some websites with readerships of millions such as BBC are showcasing New Zealand's elevated position.
5.34pm: Is there an upset on the cards? England, the world number three side, lead the Silver Ferns 24-22 at halftime and they look good for the lead. NZ with some work to do in the third quarter which will begin shortly.
5.23pm: It's tight going in the netball, 12-12 early in the second quarter.
Elsewhere there's a feast of Games action involving the Kiwis today, with our best chance of gold likely coming in the Men's team pursuit final where Sam Bewley, Peter Latham, Westley Gough and Jesse Sergent are guaranteed of at least a silver.
5.07pm: A great start for NZ in the pool on day four with Moss Burmester qualifing for the semi finals of the 100m butterfly after finishing third in his heat.
Burmester's time of 54.69s was the ninth fastest, with the top 16 swimmers progressing.
Emily Thomas has progressed to the women's 50m backstroke final after winning her heat.
Also through today is Glenn Snyders in the 50m breaststroke.
5.00pm: Welcome to day four action from the Commonwealth Games where the Silver Ferns highlight the early schedule with a huge pool match against England.
That game has just started with the teams tied 3-3 after three minutes. England, coming off an 81-20 win over Barbados and a tighter victory over South Africa, are talking up their chances of gold, NZ also undefeated after two matches.
