Basketball: Rampton a doubt for Athens

Tall Blacks centre Tony Rampton is in doubt for the Athens Olympics after breaking a thumb in the second international in Christchurch on Saturday night.

Baldwin confirmed the break was on the joint and the prognosis, to be confirmed today, is not promising.

Baldwin is expected to finalise his 12 for Athens today. Depending on his information on Rampton, he may name the 2.13m Cairns Taipans giant, on the basis that a change can be made if his recovery is not sufficiently swift in the leadup to the Olympics.
