Basketball: Jordan faces injury lay-off

Michael Jordan, who has not missed a basketball game due to injury since 1993, underwent an MRI scan on his right knee in Chicago yesterday and faced the possibility of sitting out some games to rest it.

The 38-year-old National Basketball Association legend has been feeling discomfort in the knee since hurting it during the Washington Wizards' final pre-season game and has already had fluid drained once this season.

Jordan has been averaging 24.8 points and 37.1 minutes per game in his comeback from three years in retirement, but Wizards coach Doug Collins said he probably would have to reduce Jordan's playing time to take some of the wear and tear off the aging icon.
