New Zealand will face stern competition in the world men's team badminton finals in Jakarta starting tomorrow.
The 12 finalists in the Thomas Cup are grouped in threes, with New Zealand drawing one of the tournament favourites, Korea, and Germany in their pool.
New Zealand play Korea tomorrow and Germany on Saturday, having qualified back in January after beating Australia 4-1.
A win against the Germans would mean a second-round match against the United States for New Zealand and a loss would see them take on China or Indonesia.
The Thomas Cup is contested over 5 matches, three singles and two doubles matches.
New Zealand: Dan Shirley (Waitakere), Geoff Bellingham (Waitakere), John Gordon (Waitakere), John Moody (North Harbour), Craig Cooper (Auckland).
