Athletics: Frankie Fredericks retires

Former world 200m champion Frankie Fredericks, of Namibia, is quitting international competition after winning a silver medal in the event at the African Games yesterday.

The Namibian was regarded as one of the great African sprinters, but he never won an Olympic title in his career after finishing with silver and bronze.
