Determined young Tauranga skateboarder Georgina Matthews has finished in the top five in her last two international competitions.
The 16-year-old three-time national women's title holder took fourth placing in the Gallaz Skate Jam 6 at the Globe World Cup skateboarding championships in Melbourne at the weekend.
She was one of the 12 best international female competitors invited to take part in the event.
Last October, Georgina finished fifth in the women's event at the Canadian West 49 open world championships in Toronto.
After four years in the extreme sport, she hopes to become a professional skater in the United States.
Georgina's other passion is singing.
She made it into the final 60 New Zealand Idol hopefuls, but was one of those sent home in the episode televised on Sunday night.
