Two women refused entry into New Zealand were escorted back to Europe by police officers.
The Herald can reveal that the women, one travelling on a French passport and the other on an Irish passport, were refused entry to the country last week.
Detective Superintendent Brett Kane from the policeinternational services group confirmed two officers travelled with the women to France.
He could not give any specific detail about why they were refused entry or who the women were.
"Both have been refused entry to New Zealand under the New Zealand Immigration Act," he said.
