Police have named a woman who died after she fell two storeys from a central Wellington apartment block.
Jessica Brough, 22, had been on life support since the accident at the Bute Street apartment in Te Aro on Friday, but died yesterday.
Her life support was turned off on Monday.
Her boyfriend, Errik Munk Taylor, wrote on Facebook about his devastation at her death.
"Jessica Brough.......you will always be the love of my life.. i dont know if i can make it without you... but i know i have to... i love you baby... every adventure we ever did will go down in history.. you will always exist in my soul."
He was flying to Wellington from his San Francisco home and was due to arrive tomorrow morning.
In another tribute to Ms Brough, her friend French Shee Fire-Dance wrote: "At least she will be at peace and go back to the source... Love for you Jess, catch you on the other side <3 x."
And another friend Jordan Mythical-Beast Matiaha wrote on Facebook about the hilarious times the pair had shared.
"You'll be missed by us all, but not forgotten. Goodnight Jessica Brough. We'll see you later."
In Ms Brough's death notice today, those attending her funeral tomorrow were urged to "wear your colourful party clothes" for a farewell celebration.
Inspector Terry van Dillen said Ms Brough tried unsuccessfully to get into the Bute Street building through the front entrance, so climbed two storeys up the fire escape at the rear of the building.
She slipped and fell as she tried to climb around a pipe.
She did not live at the apartment but knew people who did.
Mr van Dillen said the police investigation was complete.
"We're very comfortable that there's no third party involvement, we're very comfortable there hasn't been a suicide and we're very comfortable that it's just a tragic accident."
Ms Brough's death had been referred to the coroner.
