Woman dies after falling down stairs

A Nelson woman who fell down a flight of stairs at her home on Friday evening has died from her injuries.

Debbie Marie Hill, 49, was found at the base of a staircase about 10.15pm on Friday, police said.

She was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died about 3.30pm yesterday.

Police are still investigating the death on behalf of the coroner.
