The MetService says a high is moving on to the country and the weekend is expected to be largely fine and free of wind. But it warned the weather was likely to deteriorate again next week. Strong winds battered Southland, Nelson, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay on Tuesday. Heavy rain caused slips and lane closures on roads in the eastern Bay of Plenty.
