University of Otago scholarships cut

Medical students are concerned that $63,000 of scholarships have been cut as the University of Otago battles to lower budget deficits in its health sciences division.

Medical Students Association representative Xaviour Walker said he was shocked when he learned about the cuts, especially as they came when medical students were facing hikes in their already substantial fees.
